I took time to get accustomed to the interface and navigation once I landed on the website. Despite this, the simplicity of the search result caught my eye instantly. The snippet perfectly highlighted the six main categories – NHL, Watch, NFL, Soccer, NBA, and NBC Sports Gold. It gave us a good indication of what we could expect on the website. Although the interface wasn’t immediately intuitive, it quickly became apparent with more exploration. We were impressed by the clean and organized search results that provided the information we wanted to know.
Since NBC Sports is an expansive network, its website can sometimes feel overwhelming. To make navigating the website more accessible, we’ll break down the sections and simplify the overall design.
Upon initial visit, the first thing that grabs your attention is the black and grey menu. These menus will guide you to the content you are looking for and make the website’s overall experience more accessible.

These menus look great and are user-friendly. A well-crafted hero section with engaging visuals, a clear schedule, and minimal white space greets you as you scroll down. Though the ad space may look out of place, the overall experience is maintained. In addition, the user is brought a different experience in each of the four custom-tailored sections below in the main content section.
Watch Now is the first section located on the website’s left side. This section shows live and upcoming events. The second section shows video highlights of recent games and sports actions. In the third, Highlight section, you’ll find combined video and text content providing reports on upcoming and concluded games. Finally, the Top Headlines section, the fourth section of the website, provides the user with a scoop on the most-read stories of the day and keeps them up-to-date on the latest happenings.
Though we weren’t overly impressed with the homepage layout of NBC Sports, we were pleasantly surprised by the inner pages. Aside from the poor ad placement, we enjoyed the slick, user-friendly slider banners. In addition, the design and content placement throughout the site helped my browsing experience.
